Practice and assessment of an engine ground run
Training Overview
Our engine ground run training module enables aviation engineers to practice and be assessed in the end-to-end process of an engine ground run, without demand on a simulator and/or aircraft or a trainer/supervisor present.
The training ensures the engineer is able to complete the process of an engine ground run end to end as well as respond to emergency scenarios and faults as they happen.
Learning Outcomes
The focus of this training is to expose the trainee to an aircraft cockpit and enable them to conduct an engine ground run both with and without faults as well as react to emergencies.
Module Curriculum
This module covers:
- Cockpit preparation checklist,
- Engine Ground run with no faults
- Identify and respond to the following faults / emergencies:
- Hung Start,
- Start Valve Fault,
- Hydraulic System Fault,
- IDG Disconnect,
- Cross Bleed Start,
- Auto Start,
- Idle Vibration Survey,
- APU Fire,
- Oil Temperature increases,
- Compressor Surge,
- Engine Shut Down,
- Engine Tail Fire.
